Place half of the flour in a small, shallow bowl and set aside. In another bowl, mix the remaining flour, milk, egg, creole spice mix, then salt + pepper. Whisk until the flour has fully dissolved and you have a slightly thick batter. Lastly, place the bread crumbs into a third bowl. Line them up on the counter.
Instructions. Slice your onions into rings ¼ inch thick. In a large ziploc bag as the onions, eggs, milk and salt. Close the bag TIGHTLY with some air in it so it is kind of like a pillow and carefully shake until all combined. Let the air out, reclose and put in the fridge for as long as you can up to 2 hours.
Pre-heat oil to 350. In medium bowl whisk together your egg and beer. In another bowl combine your baking powder, flour and salt, pepper and onion powder. Slowly whisk in your beer mix, making sure to get all lumps out. Place your 1/2 cup of extra flour in shallow bowl. Dredge onions in flour, dip in batter then fry in oil until golden.
In a second bowl, combine flour and paprika. Pour half of the mixture into the buttermilk and egg mixture and stir until combined. In a third bowl, mix salt and panko breadcrumbs. Roll onion rings in the flour mixture, followed by the buttermilk mixture then coating in the breadcrumb mixture. Repeat with all onion rings.
Mix all your wet ingredients in a medium bowl. Mix all your dry ingredients in a small shallow bowl. Slice the ends off your onions, then cut them in half. Slice the onions into 1 inch petals and set aside. In a large frying pot, add oil and heat over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until hot and lightly rippling.
1. Spray the pan and sprinkle lightly with cornmeal. This will keep the pizza from sticking. 2. Stretch out the dough and plop it in the pan. Spread it out to the edges and poke holes with a fork or your fingernails. 3. Mix ranch with hot sauce in a bowl. I used about 1/4 cup ranch and maybe 20 squirts of hot sauce.
